BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Jenee Vo, PharmD
President

Jenee Vo earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2021 from Loma Linda University, School of Pharmacy where she was the recipient of the Dean’s Award in 2021 and the Rising Star Alumni of the Year Award in 2023. Prior to pharmacy school, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of California, Riverside. Being fluent in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese, Jenee has had more than a decade of experience in the community pharmacy where she worked as a pharmacy clerk, then a lead technician certified in compounding, then a pharmacy intern, and is currently a pharmacy manager / pharmacist in charge (PIC) at Costco Pharmacy. Jenee joined the OCSHP family in 2018 and has been actively involved with the organization — serving two terms as the student liaison, appointed to chair the Hospitality Committee for 2 years, and received the OCSHP Student of the Year Award in 2021. Through her tenure in leadership roles during pharmacy school, pharmacy-related legislatures and health care policies became a passion of hers. Now as a pharmacist and serving as the OCSHP President, Jenee will continue to advocate for the betterment of patient care and the future of pharmacy practice in the entire health system, from inpatient to outpatient to our community. “I believe that the future of our profession is only as bright as the efforts that we put into making it shine. Miriam Morkos, Pharm.D.
Immediate Past President

Miriam (also given the nickname “Morkie” by her colleagues) received her Doctor of Pharmacy at Marshall B. Ketchum University as part of the inaugural class. During her time at MBKU, Miriam got involved with various leadership opportunities such as OCSHP’s membership chair, as well as, the founding member for the Middle Eastern Pharmacists Association. She completed her PGY1 residency training at Desert Valley Hospital, and a PGY2 specialty residency in Infectious Diseases at LAC + USC Medical Center. Miriam Morkos joined Marshall B. Ketchum University in 2022 as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice. Miriam is currently a member of the Society for Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP) and the California Society of Health System Pharmacists.Miriam’s clinical interests are synergistic effects of antimicrobials as well as antibiotic resistance mechanisms induced by bacteria. In her spare time, Miriam enjoys playing video games with her brother, hosting dinners with her closest friends, and spending time with her family.


Grace MyAnh Tran, Pharm.D.
Treasurer

Grace graduated from Western University of Health Sciences in 2018 and began her career as an inpatient clinical pharmacist in Bakersfield. After four years there, Grace made the decision to return to Orange County, where she is currently working at UCI Medical Center. Grace is committed to providing excellent pharmaceutical care and prioritizing the health and well-being of her community.


Samantha Soriano, Pharm.D.
Secretary

Samantha completed the two-year pre-pharmacy experience (APEx) program as part of her undergraduate education at Chapman University and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from Chapman University School of Pharmacy through the accelerated three-year pharmacy program in 2022. This coming June, she will be starting her PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Dignity Health Mercy Medical Center Redding. She looks forward to continuing to nourish her growth as a clinical pharmacist within the acute care setting as well as providing the highest quality of care to further improve health outcomes. In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym, trying new food spots, traveling to tropical destinations, and spending quality time with family and friends.


Cynthia Bennett CPhT, CSPT
Pharmacy Technician Chair

Cynthia Bennett, CPhT,CSPT is the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of PIH Health Pharmacy Operations. Her career within the pharmacy profession spans over 20 years in various specialties. More than 17 years was dedicated to the in-patient hospital pharmacies within the Memorial Healthcare System, starting as a staff Pharmacy Technician and eventually moving into the role of an In-Patient Pharmacy Technician Supervisor. Home Infusion and Oncology Pharmacy were specialties she also worked in for over 17 years. She was the inaugural Director of Experiential Education at MBKU, College of Pharmacy, where she still teaches Sterile Compounding. She has many years of pharmacy experience to share with the students. As the first OCSHP Pharmacy Technician Chair, Cynthia can expand our organization to Pharmacy Technicians. In her free time, she enjoys everything and anything Star Wars.


Kayvan Moussavi, PharmD, BCCCP
Social Media/Communications Chair

Kayvan Moussavi, PharmD, BCCCP is the Clinical Pharmacy Manager at Providence St. Joseph Hospital Orange. Prior to joining Providence, Dr. Moussavi was an Assistant Professor at Marshall B. Ketchum University (MBKU) College of Pharmacy and a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the Emergency Department at Loma Linda University Medical Center.  Dr. Moussavi is a board-certified critical care pharmacist (BCCCP).  He obtained his BS from UC San Diego in 2007 and his Doctor of Pharmacy from Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at UC San Diego in 2011.  Dr. Moussavi completed his PGY1 acute care residency at UC San Diego Health and his PGY2 in critical care at Loma Linda University.  When Dr. Moussavi is not engaged in professional activities, he enjoys playing soccer, playing guitar and drums, and spending time with family and friends.


Rachel Cho, Pharm.D. Candidate 2024
Social Media/Communications Chair

Rachel Cho is a PharmD candidate at Marshall B. Ketchum University, College of Pharmacy in Fullerton, California. Rachel obtained her B.S. in Kinesiology: Exercise Science from California State University, Long Beach. Her interests include cardiology and academia. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a residency focused on ambulatory care and become a pharmacy professor. When not studying, Rachel enjoys watching movies, going to new cafes, as well as playing board games and table tennis with her cousins! 


Vivian Na, Pharm.D. Candidate 2024
Hospitality Co-Chair

Vivian Na is a PharmD candidate at Marshall B. Ketchum University, College of Pharmacy in Fullerton, California. Vivian obtained her B.S. in Biology at University of California, Riverside. Her previous experience as President of MBKU-CSHP Student Chapter and committee member of OCSHP Public Relations Committee has inspired Vivian to become Hospitality Co-Chair. After graduation, Vivian plans to pursue an acute-care residency while following her dream of becoming an excellent health care provider to her patients. When not studying or working at CHOC, Vivian enjoys listening to podcasts, watching woodworking videos, and going on walks.


Tawnya Kargupta, Pharm.D. Candidate 2024
Hospitality Co-Chair

Tawnya Kargupta is currently a P3 PharmD candidate at Marshall B Ketchum University, College of Pharmacy in Fullerton. She attended University of Caliifornia-Irvine for Undergrad and has always wanted to be a part of making an impact within healthcare. Her interests include psychiatric pharmacy as well as infectious diseases. After graduation, she hopes to make a difference by working in a hospital setting as well as peruse a residency to become a clinical pharmacist.  In her free time, she is an avid baker of desserts as well as going to Disneyland and exploring her passion for makeup.


Nhu Quyen Dau, Pharm.D.
Continuing Education Chair

Quyen received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Texas A&M College of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and subsequently a PGY-2 Cardiology Pharmacy Residency both at CHI St. Luke’s Health Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center at the Texas Medical Center in Houston. Quyen is currently an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Marshall B. Ketchum University specializing in cardiovascular diseases. Her interests within cardiology include heart failure and anticoagulation. The core of her teaching philosophy is to infuse students with a passion for the pharmacy profession and an appreciation for continuous learning.


Neeloufar Fakourfar, PharmD, BCACP, APh
Membership Chair

Dr. Neeloufar Fakourfar currently serves on the OCSHP board as Membership Vice President. She works to create meaningful events for learning and networking for pharmacists and pharmacy student members. She currently is faculty at Chapman University School of Pharmacy and practices as an ambulatory care pharmacist at Providence.


Joshua A. Garcia, Pharm.D., BCPS
Events Outreach & Public Relations Chair

Joshua Garcia is the Public Relations and Events Outreach Chair for OCSHP. He graduated from the University of the Sciences, Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 2015. After graduation, he completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and subsequently a PGY-2 Specialty Residency in Infectious Diseases at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. Joshua Garcia is an Assistant Professor at Marshall B. Ketchum University, teaching infectious disease to 3rd year pharmacy students. Josh is also the Director of Admissions for the PharmD program.


Robert Batman, PharmD. 
Legislative Committee

Robert Batman obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Southern California and has been privileged to work in a variety of pharmacy and patient care settings over the course of his career. He currently works as Drug Education Coordinator at Kaiser Permanente, Riverside. Robert is also the Pharmacy Student Coordinator and a PGY-1 pharmacy resident preceptor for his medical center. He is committed to providing access and affordable pharmaceutical care to patients and hopes to pass this on to the next generation of pharmacist.


Christine Cadiz, PharmD, MA, BCPS
Liaison

Dr. Cadiz currently practices as a clinical pharmacist in cardiology, with a specialty in advanced heart failure. She has a passion for pharmacy education. Dr. Cadiz has been a pharmacy educator since 2013, having taught students and residents in didactic and experiential coursework. She has been highly active with committees and leadership roles within CSHP and the affiliate chapter, SDSHP. currently serves on the board of directors at CSHP and is board liaison for OCSHP. In her free time, she loves to go on outdoor adventures with her family.

Gloria H. Cheng Pharm.D., BCPS, BCCCP, APh

Gloria received her Doctor of Pharmacy from The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center.  She is currently a Vice President of Clinical Services for CPS Solutions and works with partner hospitals to achieve their clinical goals and implement clinical initiatives.  Gloria is passionate about promoting safe and effective medication use.  In her free time, Gloria enjoys watching football and going to the beach with her husband and two children.


Herman Johannesmeyer, Pharm.D., BCPS

Herman received his Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Arizona and went on to complete a two-year pharmacotherapy residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He is currently a Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, Irvine School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. His clinical interests include cardiology and infectious diseases. Herman’s research interests include the effects of antibiotic timing on clinical outcomes and implementation methods of preceptor development programming. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing music, and watching University of Arizona Sports!


Martin J. Torres, PharmD, FCSHP

Dr. Torres received his PharmD degree from USC and completed a general medicine residency at LA County/USC Medical Center. He has practiced both as a direct patient care pharmacist and clinical coordinator in community hospital settings implementing medication management programs to promote patient safety. As a director of pharmacy for over 30 years, he has developed progressive pharmacy services in multiple healthcare institutions with administrative responsibilities in leadership, patient safety, quality improvement, patient satisfaction, regulatory compliance, financial performance and multi-disciplinary population health management across transitions of care.

Dr. Torres is on faculty at the Southern California College of Optometry where he teaches the pharmacology curriculum for 1st and 2nd year Doctor of Optometry students and has precepted pharmacy students from numerous pharmacy schools in addition to UCI public health students.

Dr. Torres is an active member of the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists (CSHP) previously
serving on the Board of Directors and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) as a member of the Committee on Affiliate Relations.

Currently, Dr. Torres is a member of the UC Irvine Pharmacy leadership team where he serves as the Director of Quality, Safety, Education, and Research with administrative responsibilities for the medication safety program, Pharmacy residency program, student preceptor program, and investigational drug service.
