A couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending CSHP Seminar for the first time. I was so excited about attending Seminar that I planned my agenda for the conference a month in advance. I attended my first conference as a P1, and the opportunities I had to meet students with the same aspirations as I did as well as pharmacists who treated me as a professional and not simply a student, left a lasting impact on me, and I was excited that such an opportunity came again. This year, with the enthusiasm of simply being able to attend a conference again, coupled with a CAPSLead poster to present and a generous sponsorship from OCSHP, I could not have been more ready to attend CSHP Seminar.

I went to Seminar as a third year simply to take in as much as I could, especially at the residency showcase, and to see how the conference flowed. This way, when I attend Seminar next year as a fourth year, I will know what to expect and how to get as much as I can out of the conference to best prepare myself for residency application. After following my fourth year friends to a couple booths at the residency showcase, I gained a better understanding of what factors to consider when comparing and contrasting programs, as well as which of these factors mattered most to me personally. In addition to the residency showcase, I learned a lot from workshops geared toward students and from simply meeting new people. It was also an added bonus to see USC win its first CSHP Seminar Quiz Bowl.
